Tasman Backpackers is a hostel for international travellers operated by friendly, helpful staff who have backpacked around the world several times.

Established in 1994, we are one of the largest backpackers in Tasmania with exceptional personalised service.

We aim to provide everything to make this your home away from home!

We have Tasmania’s most affordable accommodation with an option to suit even the most discerning traveller.

Our dorm rooms are just $18 per night per person with twin, double, family and private ensuite rooms available, most having an outdoor balcony.

Tasman Backpackers will also help you to have the complete Tasmanian Experience! With our extensive trekking and hiking experience our tour desk staff will ensure that you get to see the unique flora and fauna and wonders of Tasmania, whether it is to pat a koala, cuddle a wombat, watch a Tassie Devil, platypus or penguin! Need a lift here?

We provide a free shuttle bus from the Devonport Information Centre and the Redline Bus Depot. Pick-ups can be arranged from the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry Terminal and Devonport Airport.
